Marco Sonzogni

 

Marco Sonzogni is a Reader in Translation Studies at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington where the researches and teaches the scholarly and dimensions of translation from an interdisciplinary and collaborative perspective. He is a widely published and award-winning scholar, literary translator, editor and poet. He has devoted his career to the poetry of two Nobel Laureates in Literature, the Italian poet Eugenio Montale (1896-1981) and the Irish poet Seamus Heaney (1939-2013). With Sydney Shep he is currently exploring theories and practices of evolutionary translation.
